We have been traveling quite a bit this summer with more travel coming up! Last weekend we were asked to spend a few days at The Kartrite, a brand new resort & indoor waterpark in the Catskill Mountains (Upstate New York). The Kartrite is only a few months old & we could not WAIT to check it out.
The Kartrite is a 2 hour drive from our home in NJ, & its also 2 hours from New York City. This is ideal for families looking for a quick getaway from home without having to fly or drive too far.
As soon as we arrived at The Kartrite resort, we were blown away. First of all check in took NO time, which for us a huge plus! Who wants to arrive & then first wait on a check-in line for an hour after being in the car for 2 hours!
After check-in, you are given your bracelets which everyone in your family will wear. This is for your room access, & waterpark access!
We could not believe even from the lobby how beautiful the space was. Huge open windows with full views of the waterpark & the grounds. We went to our room & were then blown away. These rooms were designed with thought! We were given 2 bedroom suite & it was perfect for our family. The room had 2 bathrooms, a nice living room area & kitchen area too!
I MUST note that the blow dryer in the room was the fastest one I ever used to later on dry my hair! As a busy busy mom, I was blown away it took me less than 5 minutes to totally dry my whole head of hair!
Now on to the best part, the WATER PARK! Everything was clean, immaculate & designed perfectly. There were areas for smaller children & the slides for the bigger children/adults. There was also an indoor/outdoor pool! And you KNOW my family loves an indoor/outdoor pool! There are cabanas (more on that in a minute) for your family if you choose to rent one! If not there are plenty of seats & tables. Vests are available for your children if you do not bring your own type of safety device for them!
Also, if you plan to take photos by the water, then you need this! I bought this so I can keep my phone safe & it worked like a charm the whole time!
Another item I always bring on trips is this, so you don’t have to worry about draining your phone battery while out all day on any type of trip!
My kids had SO much fun. I cannot even begin to tell you. We went from water area to water area & they could have stayed there for 12 hours straight. Every hour or so, we took short breaks to our cabana. We were given private cabana which I was so appreciative of & would recommend getting one if you can.
The cabana gives you:
1) Privacy – We liked being able to hang just us for a little bit while we took a break!
2) Amenities – Cababnas have a tv, water & other drinks, some snacks & fruit, towels, & access to waitress service for food & bar drinks!
3) A place for kiddies to nap! A nice place for kids to take a rest comes in SUCH handy!
Now after you’re done for the day or night in the waterpark there is plenty of other stuff going on!

-Arcade
-Rope Course
-Rock Climbing Wall
-Bowling
-A SPA (for sure doing that when I go back)
& their is a calendar with new & different activities going on at The Kartrite daily!
