Woodloch Pines is a FANTASTIC, family-owned, all-inclusive resort in the Poconos, PA. I have heard of Woodloch for a few years now, & it was on my list of places to travel with our family. When they invited us to come for a long weekend, we graciously accepted, & couldn’t WAIT to finally visit.
We got there around lunchtime. We went to eat & got to watch Family Feud in action. It was such a fun way to start our weekend! Then we went right to snow tubing. My hubby took each girl down the snow tube, & then my big princess decided to go it alone (EEK). She did a wonderful job & they had SO much fun. We sat by the fire outside & just took in all the MAGIC & BEAUTY around us. The lake, the trees, the snow, just so much beautiful landscape to be in awe of.
We then moved the car to our room (which was in the pool building, SCORE). Once you park, you do not need your car again. You can walk from anywhere in the resort. BUT, if you aren’t in the mood to talk, or the weather isn’t great, they have shuttles to pick you up from any point on property, & take you to any point on property. This was SOOOOOO awesome. Each night before dinner, we would walk around the trails & take in the sunsets, then end at the main building where the restaurant is. We would take the shuttle back to the building where our room is after dinner, & it really was so great to have that option.
At dinner, you are greeted by multiple characters, & the staff standing there waiting to say good evening. When I tell you this, I mean it x1000: I have NEVER EVER EVER EVER seen a more polite, friendly, & HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY staff. These men & women loved their jobs. They were having fun, they LOVED being there. That says a lot about Woodloch. They treat their employees well & that was very clear to me. This was one of my favorite highlights there, just how amazed I was by the staff.
Now let me tell you about the ROOM! We had one bedroom, with a cozy living room, 2 bathrooms, and a private balcony with the most GORGEOUS view of the lake. Can I tell you how peaceful it was to wake up, & see all that beauty right outside the window. Woodloch can make a nature lover out of anyone (me included).
Each night after dinner, we went to the pool. YES we are those people who let our kids stay up WAY TOO LATE but oh well! The pool was open until 10 so we made the best of our time there.
The pool was THE BEST BEST BEST. The main pool is huge. Attached to it is a very small pool meant for small kids (like mine) to be able to stand & splash around. Then there is a walkway to the splash area, the HUGE splash area. Multiple connected splash areas for kids with slides, & so much fun things for the kids. Then there is another walkway for slightly bigger kids, 42″ & up to go down the water slide, that is connected to another splash area. This pool area had me signed, sealed, delivered. My kids would have stayed there for 24 hours straight. We had to drag them away. They had so much fun, so much to do just in the pool area. I love that they accommodated smaller children like mine.
The next day after breakfast, we went to check out the Gingerbread Wars. We were paired up with another family to create a gingerbread masterpiece. The theme was New Years resolutions. We did a scene at Woodloch. Ours was decent, but you should have seen the others. Such talent, I can’t imagine how they made these displays in a half-hour. BUT I did win a t-shirt due to my winning tweet. They had a contest to submit a pic/tweet from the gingerbread wars. My little one looked so mad/sad because she couldn’t eat the candy. I submitted the tweet of her saying “when the candy isn’t for eating.” And I won!!!
After this we went to the kids arts & crafts area. Then we went to another building where they had a full arcade (on 2 different floors) as well as a HUGEEEEEEEE kids play area. My kids again could have stayed here climbing, sliding, going through the tunnels, all day! It was hard to get them to leave here, they were having SO MUCH FUN!
After lunch it was time for my little one to nap so I took her back to the room. Hubby took my older princess to do bumper cars, & go karts. They also saw ice skating, bowling, archery, paintball, & an escape room. Did I mention they had so much to do here it may take a week or two to do it all?
We took another sunset walk before dinner & then went back to the pool.
The next day we were so had because we were leaving. BUT before lunch, we got to see the petting zoo they had there for the day, which included a pony ride! I mean does this place get any better?
After lunch, we had to head home (but not before my older daughter cries because she doesn’t want to leave). It was very hard to leave, we could have all easily have stayed a few more days to experience more of Woodloch & everything it had to offer.
Woodloch Resort truly gave us memories that will last a lifetime. It is absolutely beautiful, the staff was WONDERFUL, there are 100s of activities, it was a perfect weekend. This resort is 100% perfect for a family trip, couples trip, or girls weekend.
I highly recommend it to anyone & truly thank Woodloch Resort & its staff for giving us the opportunity to experience the beauty that is Woodloch!
