Hey beauties! I have been busy planning (for literally a YEAR) our 1st OFFICIAL trip to Walt Disney World! I wanted to take my older daughter when she was 2 (and began asking to go, knew who all the characters were etc). At the time I was pregnant, then had a baby, so now we are FINALLY ready to go! Both girls will be old enough to enjoy it, & get to take part in all of the amazingness that is D*I*S*N*E*Y!
Planning a Disney trip is not like planning a regular vacation. Dining has to be booked 6 months in advanced, fast passes booked 60 or 30 days out (depending if you are staying on property or not). There are so many details, so many things to choose from, one can drive themselves insane planning this trip. Some people use travel agents, but I wanted to take this on myself, so I can totally be involved in every detail of the plans/changes etc.
Once we get back, I will fully go into detail about our trip, our itinerary, our outfits, Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, all of it! For now I will talk about the “Pre-Game” trip we took to Orlando in January. We had been given a great opportunity to go to Orlando for 4 nights for very reasonable, airfare was cheap, so we booked! Knowing our big trip was later in the year we didn’t want to do the parks. We decided to do some character dining at the resorts, Mickey’s Backyard BBQ, Disney Springs, & Sea World!
Our 1st night we went to Disney Springs & ate at Rainforest Cafe. Our littles had a great time!
The next day we did brunch at 1900 Park Fare. For sure one of the best character dining experiences. Mary Poppins was there, Alice, the Mad Hatter (who was HYSTERICAL) & Winnie the Pooh (& friends!). We are going for dinner next time to eat with Cinderella, Prince Charming, & the evil Stepmother & Stepsisters (heard its a great, fun dinner to attend)!
Trying the strawberry soup (its not hot) is a MUST!
That night, we went to Mickey’s Backyard BBQ at Fort Wilderness. It is a dinner, dancing, western-themed show attended by Mickey & Minnie, Goofy, & Chip & Dale. This was AMAZING! Everyone whose kids love characters need to attend this. You get to dance with the characters, eat BBQ food & take pictures with all the characters! We may do it again in a few years because it was so much fun!
The next day we did Sea World which was fun for the kids & they loved seeing the shows! For our final night, our little one was sick so we spent half the day at urgent care, & the night at Disney Springs to eat dinner at T-Rex (picture Rainforest Cafe set to a Dinosaur theme).
The morning that we left, we ate at Chef Mickey! So much fun, a classic character breakfast definitely worth checking out! It is the only character meal attended by Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy & Pluto (but where was Daisy?)!
We had a great time on this little trip & it was the perfect way to explore Disney without going in. We rode the monorail, checked out the resorts & had a wonderful time! Now they are even more excited for our upcoming BIG trip!
Here are some cute outfits you can get from your little ones for Disney!
