Hey beauties! Last night me & the hubby checked out Drunk Shakespeare in NYC, courtesy of Leanne Schanzer promotions! We decided to make a day of it and spend some time together. We had dinner, went to the M&M store to pick up some goodies for the girls, and then headed to the theatre!
The M&M store was so fun!
I always love my hometown!!!!!! Though you will never catch me actually wearing the I<3NY shirts.
So many M&M choicessssssss.
We decided to mix a bag full of blues and pinks, the favorite colors of our girls. Lets just say there were very excited when we got home that night.
NOW, for Drunk Shakespeare!
First of all, if you are looking for some marquis in the theatre district that says “Drunk Shakespeare,” you will never find this theatre. From the street, it looks like an unassuming, well, elevator! The elevator takes you to a bar. Past the bar, is a hidden library, and that is where the show is! Everyone in the audience sits all the way around the library. It is the coolest setup for a show. It was really awesome before the show even started, just the atmosphere and how different it was.
When the play starts, they announce they will be performing Macbeth. Before each show, a different actor is chosen to be the “drunk” actor for the night. Once the show starts, the chosen actor takes 5 shots, then has to perform Shakespearian acting! It was truly hysterical. I don’t want to ruin the fun for anyone to give all the specifics of the show itself. BUT, the show included the audience at many points, was SO hysterically funny. My husband was cracking up for most of the show. The actors were great, down to earth, and spent time before and after the show talking to people in attendance.
If you are looking for a fun, unique, NYC experience, (and are 21+ up), then you must check this show out! It is nothing like you have seen! It was really fun, and I am so glad we went! Thank you again Leanne Schanzer promotions for sending us to this great show!
