Read All About Our 3-Day Weekend Family Trip to Lancaster, Pennsylvania (also known as Amish Country)!
We visited Lancaster County earlier this year in June & we could not wait to come back. This was our 5th family trip to this area (so clearly we must like it here!). We had never visited in the fall before so we were excited to come this time of year! We were also happy to be working with Visit Lancaster again since they always know the best places to visit (and eat)!
The first place we went was somewhere that was new for us, Kitchen Kettle Village! Kitchen Kettle Village is made up of over 40 cute shops, it is so quaint and perfect! We ate lunch when we arrived at the Kling House restaurant! It was SO good and the perfect way to start our day in Lancaster! We then took a horse & buggy ride thanks to AAA Buggy Rides, which we were able to book right at their booth in Kitchen Kettle Village. We took a shorter ride but they have 3 different options, they all looked great depending what you want to see and do!
When we got back the girls decorated gingerbread men cookies at The Bakery & right before we left we got some ice cream from Lapp Valley Farm Ice Cream, SO GOOD!
All the shops were selling different, interesting products for the home, kids, basically anything. We had such a nice time walking around and checking all the shops out! We had always heard about Kitchen Kettle Village and were so happy we got to check it out on this visit! When we left, we headed over to Cherry Crest Adventure Farm for some FALL FUN!
Cherry Crest Adventure Farm had been on my visit list for Lancaster for a while, and Fall is the perfect time to visit! We could have spent the whole day here easily, there is just so much to do! There were animals to pet and feed, tractor rides, games, endless activities & fun! The girls had SO SO SO much fun here! It is great all year round, but I think fall is probably the most exciting time to visit Cherry Crest Adventure Farm!
The next day we started at Turkey Hill Experience. This was our 3rd visit & it is a MUST for when you are in Lancaster! There are lots of cool activities and things to do as well as extras you can add on. they have the Tasting Lab where you can create your own special ice cream (flavors, toppings, etc). It is learning mixed with delicious ice cream. They also have an Iced Tea Discovery class, and lots of yummy iced tea samples (my favorite is the raspberry)! Kids will have a ball here with a few hours worth of fun!
Our last destination for the weekend was to Dutch Wonderland. This was our 5th time visiting Dutch Wonderland. Can you tell we love it? It is the perfect amusement park for kids! My kids are able to do almost every single attraction and ride there!
They have water rides in the summer, pony rides all year, and so many fun things to do. My girls love the huge slide! It is probably their favorite thing to do there. There is also a Sky Ride & fun Monorail which we love too! We started going when my oldest was 18 months and it is just as special now. I cannot say enough about how we love Dutch Wonderland!
We crammed a lot into our weekend but we had the best time! There is always so much to do in Lancaster County!
