Family Fun Vacation Travels to Bucks County, Pennsylvania! Read All About Our Weekend Away & Learn The Fun Your Family Can Have There Too!
You may remember that I worked with Visit Philadelphia back in April, read about that here! This time we spent the weekend in a different part of Pennsylvania, Bucks County! We usually visit Bucks County a few times a year because there is SO much fun stuff to do. I am so glad that we got to spend a whole weekend here, & be able to give you a proper recap & review of ALL the fun things there are for families to do in the area!
Some of the biggest attractions in Bucks County PA are New Hope, Peddler’s Village, & of course, SESAME PLACE!
Let me give you a rundown of our itinerary so I can talk a little bit about each place we went & what we did!
Friday:
1) We arrived to New Hope, & visited the Buck’s County Children’s Museum. New Hope is walkable to Lambertville, NJ. New Hope gives you great views of the Delaware River. There are tons of things to do. So many great restaurants & shops to check out. It is such a cute, quaint town. I wanted to go to each & every place because it was just overwhelmingly charming! The children’s museum is right in a convenient area in the heart of New Hope.
My kids LOVED the museum (as did we). I watched them enjoy each exhibit & setup. They were using their imaginations, role-playing, & their minds were in motion the whole time! If you have children, this is a MUST to visit. We could have stayed there for hours & hours, my kids had such a blast!
2) After we left the museum, we checked in at the hotel. We stayed at the Springhill Suites Philadelphia Langhorne, which is in Bucks County. We hung in the pool & had the BEST time! The hotel also had really nice rooms & free breakfast!
On Saturday morning the hotel had this amazing balloon artist making the kids the best balloons I ever saw, including ELMO! Which brings me to the best thing about this hotel, it is WALKING DISTANCE TO SESAME PLACE! It is the same distance as walking from the Sesame Place parking lot! This was extremely convenient & a huge perk of staying at this hotel! Which is where we spent all of Saturday!
3) Sesame Place in Bucks County is one of the best amusement parks for children we have EVER been to. We started going there when my oldest was 7 months old. Now both girls love it & enjoy going. We usually go at least 3 times a year. We have been season pass holders for quite a few years (except this year because we are crammed with so many commitments wahhhhhh). Sesame Place is just magical for kids. I remember going as a kid! This year Sesame Street is celebrating its 50th anniversary & Sesame Place will be celebrating along with them. They redid the main neighborhood area, it looks sooooooo cool!
They added a new neighborhood show also which my kids really enjoyed! Sesame Place is great because its good ALL YEAR! They have the best water attractions for kids of all ages which is great for summer. In fall they decorate so nice for Halloween (& have trick-or-treating for kids). For the holidays, they have Santa, & the decorations are gorgeous. My favorite part of Sesame Place is still the parade. They usually do the parade twice a day & its just so magical every single time. To see kids laughing, dancing, and enjoying their time is so heart-warming!
There are plenty of places for photo-ops with the characters too! The rides accommodate younger & older kids! My older daughter’s favorite ride is Vapor Trail & my younger daughter loves doing the big slide 20 times in a row, maybe more!
The shows are the other favorite thing we love about Sesame Place. We saw 3 different shows on our visit, each different, each super fun! If you have kids, this is a MUST to visit Sesame Place! They will have memories forever!
4) Sunday we spent the day at Peddlers Village in Bucks County. I have been wanting to go visit here for years! I had always heard it was so nice to visit during the holidays, & that it was a very beautiful town like New Hope. We started off checking out all the different shops & stores! We then found our way over to Giggleberry Fair. Giggleberry Fair is an indoor amusement park. There is a very cute carousel, a giant playground, & tons of games. My kids of course did NOT want to leave here! We stayed here for a few hours & they would have stayed all day.
We ended our time at Peddlers Village with dinner at Earl’s New American Restaurant right in Peddlers Village. This was one of the best meals we ever had! Everything we had was delicious but I think my favorite thing was the lobster dumplings we shared as an appetizer! I highly recommend checking out Earl’s New American if you are in the area!
There you have it! Our fabulous weekend away in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. We made so many memories that I will cherish! My kids had SO SO SO much fun! Bucks County would be perfect for families, couples, or fun with friends! There is just so much to do! Everything is so nice & charming. We cannot wait to go back!
