Today is Galentine’s Day, the day before Valentine’s Day, where we celebrate our friends! This is a relatively new celebration, but none the less an important one. I talk a lot about friendship, mom friends, & mom tribes on my TV show & on the blog. It is something I truly believe holds immense amounts of value.
I was supposed to go to a Galentine’s day wine exchange tonight at one of my closest friends homes, but alas my older daughter is not feeling well & wanted me home. But I did have a cute outfit planned!
Now here are my 5 reasons why you should be celebrating Galentine’s Day with your besties!
1)They love you! And you love them! Love is worth celebrating! When you have a true group of gals who loves you, wants you happy, wants you successful, cares about your well-being, you should be celebrating! Those are the kind of friends not everyone will find. If you have them, celebrate it!
2)Mom’s night outs are so fun! Any time I go out with my girlfriends, it is nothing but laughs, & good conversation. Some of only met since becoming moms, so it is fun to share stories from the past. (Like how NO ONE believes how wild my husband was back in the day because he is so laid back now). We were all ladies with a whole life we lived before becoming mamas, & its fun to learn about THOSE aspects of your friends lives!
3)You come up with fun ways to celebrate! I was going to a wine exchange tonight. Others may celebrate by going to a restaurant, but there are tons of other fun things you can do to have a fun time with your gal pals. You can go to a sip & paint, terrarium making, cooking class, spa, or tons of other things you may not have time to do all the time but are so fun.
4)It celebrates females supporting each other! Women are the first to pull each other down, bash each other, compete, and treat each other horribly. I hate this & its something that truly bothers me. Celebrating in a genuine way the love women have for each other within their own circles is empowering.
5)Love is love! Love can be found in our children, spouses, family, & of course our friends. Our friends support is in a different way than all the rest. Its a different dynamic. Its love, its friendship, its CRITICAL! I need my friends! I love my friends! I have gotten through some tough times with my friends. I have been supported in the best times with my friends. I want them to always know I love them & always will be ready to be there for them when they need!
So there you have it. 5 reasons to celebrate Galentine’s Day with your friends! I am bummed I missed this years celebrate but mom if one of my babies needs me, that will always be where I am. BUT I do make sure I let me friends know how much they mean to me!
